I recently Graduated in May’06 I have Federal Stafford loans and Sallie Mae loans I have applied for forbarrance till July. They wanted $700 a month from me which is more than my rent! I am currently making 30k a year and living on my own so theirs not much to spare at the end of the month. How can I consolidate them into an Affordable monthly payment ??
Actually I can help you. I am an advisor with student aid lending. The government has a free consoldation program that lets you choose from a variety of repayment plans. The best thing about it is that you can choose one that will fit your budget for now but there is no prepayment penalty so that in the future when you want to pay the loan off quickly you can do so without any fees being attached. You also receive 3 years of deferment and forbearance when you consolidate where no payments are due.
If you want more info you can give me a call directly or shoot me an email if you prefer. My name is Tiana Thrower
